Hi Neighbors,

How are you? It’s been a busy summer and it’s hard to believe it’s already August. Though we came up just short of blocking our opponent from receiving the DFL endorsement in June, we gained the support of 150 energized delegates. We continue to gain momentum with dozens of active campaign volunteers and neighbors excited for true progressive leadership. It’s imperative that we win in November, because this campaign is not about me: it’s about creating lasting change in Minneapolis so that we can have a peaceful, equitable, and prosperous future.

At home, my stepdaughter just finished tryouts for Minneapolis United competitive soccer; my wife just started her Masters in Art Education at the University of Minnesota; my business won a Fire Award for being among Minnesota’s top tech and startup companies; and our rescue dog Maleficent J. Woofingtons (aka “The Woofs”) got a fresh summer haircut to beat the heat.

We plan to stay busy for the rest of the summer, and we hope you’ll join our growing movement of supporters who are ready to meet the moment on public safety and climate change. If you want to be a part of what we’re doing, there are two ways to get involved:

  1. Join us for a door knocking or phone banking event

  2. Make a donation to the campaign so we can reach more neighbors

Thank you so much to everyone who has already offered their support to the campaign. We’ve got a lot of momentum going into the final month and a half before early voting starts: let’s get in front of more neighbors so they can help us bring new leadership to city council.

Sincerely,

Some great neighbors are endorsing our campaign!

The recent Kenny Organizing for Racial Equity (KORE) forum highlighted the need for change.

Our campaign participated in the Kenny Organizing for Racial Equity (KORE) candidate forum a few weeks ago. Here’s my response to the question on how historical systems of white supremacy still impact social norms in Ward 13:

Join us in the work for true public safety and security for all.

Calling all volunteers! We may have a challenging road ahead, but with your help, we can pull off a victory for progressive common sense in November. A strong and dedicated ground game is what propels candidates into elected office, and you’re all invited to join us in Ward 13, knocking on our neighbors’ doors and ringing their phones.

Stay tuned for more information on dates and times! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to our field manager, Matt Baumann, [email protected]. I look forward to seeing you out there!

Donate now and elect a true progressive to the Minneapolis City Council.

Are you ready to join this grassroots movement for a more peaceful, equitable and prosperous Ward 13? Please help us reach additional voters with a financial contribution. Your donation of $25 funds two yard signs to raise awareness about our campaign to elect Mike Norton.
